Rachael A. Dougan
University of New Haven, West Haven, CT
Legal Studies / Paralegal Certificate 1999
Rachael grew in Madison, CT and initially joined her first law firm “for a year” to gain some insight into what being a lawyer would really entail before entering law school. Now, more than twenty years later, it seems that her calling was best realized in supporting the great litigation minds she has met along the way. Not being one to ever settle for comfortable mediocrity, and always seeking out drive motivated challenges, Rachael has come to realize one constant in the practice of litigation and that constant is change. Whether the change occurs through evolution of technology, public mindset or legal precedent, one can never comfortably rest on laurels or fail to recognize potential growth opportunity and Rachael strives to bring that mindset into each case and every workday.
Outside the office, Rachael refills the glass of life and attains balance through the outdoors and activities which include fishing, camping, four wheeling and gardening, but only when she is not coaching her daughter’s Steele Creek Spring and Fall softball teams. Following these dynamic days, Rachael returns to her sweet little home in Southwest Charlotte which she shares with a most special man, her beautiful daughter and three dogs all of whom she cannot fathom doing tomorrow without.
