New Paul Harris Fellow Ron Skufca receives congratulations from Bob Teague

Past President Bob Teague awarded membership in Rotary District 7680’s Paul Harris Society to Past President Dewey Jenkins and current President Kay May during the Oct. 28 meeting and recognized Ron Skufca as a Paul Harris Fellow.

Bob said, “The presentation of a Paul Harris Fellow recognition” is The Rotary Foundation’s way of expressing its appreciation for a substantial contribution to its humanitarian and educational programs. It is named for our founder, Paul Harris, a Chicago lawyer who started Rotary International with three business associates in 1905.

“We move closer to a world of peace and good will today as Mr Ron Skufka becomes a Paul Harris Fellow… it is because of gifts like yours that the Rotary Foundation is able to carry out an array of programs that achieve beneficial changes in our world… improve living conditions, increase food production,… providing better education,… wider availability of treatment and rehabilitation for the sick and disabled,…new channels for the flow of international understanding and brighter hopes for peace. Your $1,000 contribution enables The Rotary Foundation to provide artificial limbs for 25 disabled persons in Calcutta, India…or contribute school supplies for more than 1,200 needy children in Guatemala.

“In becoming a Paul Harris” Fellow, Ron joins a remarkable company of persons throughout the world; all recognized for their devotion to the ideal of good will…peace and understanding. It is the goal of Rotarians the world over, and one that Ron clearly shares.

“It gives me great pleasure… along with our President Kay May to present you with the two emblems of appreciation given to a Paul Harris Fellow…the certificate…and pin.”
