On Saturday, Sept 11, 2021 close to 1000 runners towed the line to #RunSouthEnd by taking part in the 8th Annual South End Shuffle 5k & Mile Run. Founded by our managing attorney, Ron Skufca, the South End Shuffle 5k & Mile Run is presented by Skufca Law, Beacon Partners, and Wooden Robot Brewery and benefits two local non-profits close to our hearts in South End and our nearby community: The Purple Promise to End Melanoma and West Blvd Ministry. The day started with the 1 Mile Run, followed by an honor to the 20th anniversary of 9/11 and singing of the National Anthem by our friend Angie Rikard from the from Charlotte Speech & Hearing Center. Soon after, hundreds of runners and walkers took part in the 8th edition of this South End neighborhood tradition, which ends with a fun post-race awards ceremony and celebration at Wooden Robot Brewery! To all who were part of the 8th Annual South End Shuffle 5k & Mile Run, we thank you for making our event a huge success! To all our sponsors – we can’t do it without you! Thank you to our friends from RunningWorks who donate their time volunteering, cheering and bringing their energy to our event! To our beneficiaries: Purple Promise Foundation to End Melanoma and West Blvd Ministry – keep up your great work, we’re proud to be a small part of your mission. Whether you’re an experienced runner, a new runner, a walker, a jogger – congrats on your race and we hope you enjoyed “shuffling” with us. If you weren’t able to make it this time, we hope to see you next year. Enjoy reliving the South End Shuffle through the images captured by our long-time sponsor, Artist and Master Craftsman Photographer, Stephen Dey. |
